Lorica, 4 febbraio 2017 – Con il patrocinio dell'Ente Parco Nazionale della Sila, e organizzata dallo A.S.D. Sci Club Montenero, torna dopo un anno di pausa la tappa Sud della manifestazione nazionale di sci di fondo “Criterium Interappenninico 2017”, uno degli eventi più importanti a livello nazionale. L'appuntamento è sulle impegnative piste di Carlomagno, dove competeranno centinaia di atleti provenienti dai più forti club italiani.

Tra le presenze praticamente certe potremo contare Valerio Checchi, ex atleta azzurro del Corpo Forestale nonché vincitore di gare in Coppa del Mondo; e Biagio Di Santo, altro ex atleta azzurro, ma delle Fiamme Gialle. Insieme a loro quasi sicuramente al via i Campioni d'Italia del Comitato Abruzzese ed i “Centenari della FISI”, già vincitori delle ultime due edizioni del Criterium, dello Sci Club Capracotta.

Lorica, 4th February 2017 – With the sponsorship of Sila National Park Agency, and organized by the A.S.D. Sci Club Montenero, after a year off the Southern stage of the national cross-country skiing event “Criterium Interappenninico 2017”, one of the most important national meetings, is back. The stage will be the challenging ski tracks of Carlomagno, were hundreds of athletes from the best Italian clubs will compete against each other.

Among them, it is practically certain the presence of Valerio Checchi, a former member of the Italian Team of the Corpo Forestale and winner of World Cup competitions; and Biagio Di Santo, another former member of the Italian Team, but in this instance of the Fiamme Gialle. With them on the starting line it is almost guaranteed the presence of the Italian Champions of the Comitato Abruzzese and of the “Centenari della FISI”, already winners of the last two editions of the Criterium, from the Sci Club Capracotta.

Le gare inizieranno sabato 4 p.v. alle ore 15, mentre alle ore 17.30 avrà luogo la premiazione del “2° Memorial C. Cecco”. Domenica 5 l'appuntamento ai nastri di partenza sarà invece per le ore 9.30, mentre la premiazione avrà luogo presso il “Sala Dino's Hotel” alle 15.

Sarà anche un'occasione per far conoscere lo sci di fondo, e gli sport invernali in genere, ai più piccoli, grazie a “NeveInFamiglia”, un progetto presentato insieme alle Amministrazioni Comunali ed alle scuole dell'Appennino coinvolte – ricordiamo che le altre due tappe del Criterium si terranno a Subiaco Monte-Livata (RM) e ad Alfadena (AQ).

The races will start Saturday 4th at 3 p.m., while at 5.30 p.m. the award ceremony of the “2nd Memorial C. Cecco” will take place. Sunday 5th the appointment at the starting gates will be for 9.30 a.m., while the award ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. at the “Sala Dino's Hotel”.

This will be as well an occasion to share with the children the passion for cross-country skiing and winter sports in general, thanks to “NeveInFamiglia”, a project proposed together with the Municipal Authorities and the schools of the Apennines located in the district where the Criterium is held – remembering that the other two stages will take place at Subiaco Monte-Livata (RM) and at Alfadena (AQ).

Per quanto riguarda il nostro comprensorio, ad essere coinvolti per quest'anno saranno i piccoli della scuola elementare di IC Fratelli Bandiera di San Giovanni in Fiore. Per questa edizione l'evento coinvolgerà, a titolo sperimentale, un solo Istituto Comprensivo per ogni località interessata, per poter meglio valutare eventuali difficoltà operative. Con la speranza, per il 2018, di poterlo rendere fruibile a tutte le scuole del territorio, anche a quelle limitrofe alle sedi di gara.

Saranno 3 weekend di uscite con le scuole, coincidenti con le tappe del Criterium Interappenninico, durante le quali i bambini e i genitori potranno praticare sci nordico, escursioni con le ciaspole, educazione ambientale e sicurezza sulla neve. Potranno appunto “vivere la neve” in famiglia.

L'obiettivo ultimo è spingere i bambini a tornare in montagna con i loro cari non solo per praticare lo sci di fondo, ma anche per fare una ciaspolata o una discesa in bob.

As for our territory, for this year only the students of the primary school IC Fratelli Bandiera of San Giovanni in Fiore will take part in this project. For this edition the event will involve, on an experimental basis, only one School for every locality, to be able to better evaluate possible operative challenges. But with the hope, in 2018, to be able to extend the program to all the schools located in the areas, or in the adjoining ones, where the races are held.

During 3 weekends, in the same dates of the Criterium stages, both the children and their parents will be able to practice Nordic skiing, snowshoeing excursions, environmental education and snow safety. They will be able to “live the snow” with their family.

The final goal is to push the kids in coming back to the mountains with their parents not just to practice cross-country skiing, but as well a snowshoeing excursion or a bobsleigh descent.
